Adelaide Sunday

She's like a cup of lat`e
She pulls the kitty's tail-ey
Sometimes she is smell-ey
Like THROW-UP!
Her name is Adelaid-ay
She's like a Uke-layhh-lee;
She always cheers me up
But she smells like THROW-UP!
She's a cute little Sunday
Caramel with a Cher-ray
But she smells like THROW-UP!
Eww! She just did it!

A conversation

I don't usually post this often, but this cracked me up.

Emilie: Mom, how long is 12 hours?
Mom: 12 hours.
Emilie: No Mom, How LONG is 12 hours.
Mom: 12 hours. 12 am to 12 pm is 12 hours.
Emilie: Yeah, but I mean in the winter!

I still have no clue what she was talking about.

11 years and still counting...

Yeah hooray, for us today! It is our 11th anniversary today, and somehow despite all the odds, I am still totally in love with Jason. He is a terrific, funny, intelligent, and most of all a wonderful man. I am so happy to be his wife. We have shared some great times through the years; I am so glad that I shared those times with him. I am looking forward to another funfilled year with my wonderful husband. Happy Anniversary Jason, I love you. I've added some pictures from our wedding, and the first year of our marriage. I love to see how happy we were then. I think we're still that happy now.

hooked up

So a week and half ago we had a blackout, and our computer started having problems after that. Last Saturday it died completely. So, for about 4 fun filled days we used our Wii to surf the net. I don't know if any of my faithful readers have ever used the Wii for the Internet, but let me tell you from experience, it is not as fun as it sounds.
Wednesday night after a little deal hunting, we bought a new laptop at Best Buy. It hurt a little to fork the $ over, but I like to think we contributed to a failing economy. At least that's what I keep telling myself.
Now, since we got a laptop, obviously we need wireless Internet. So we also bought a wireless router. We got it home thinking this should be no problem to hook up. So, 3 days, 2 routers, and numberless hours later I, not Jason, figured out router, and got us hooked up. Yeah me!
And so the Poyfair house has entered a new higher tech era. Hooray!

IT'S THE SIMPLE THINGS ...

I REALLY LIKE IT WHEN THE SIMPLE THINGS MAKE US HAPPY. FOR INSTANCE, TYPING IN ALL CAPS FOR NO REASON AT ALL MAKES ME A LITTLE HAPPY. WAKING UP AT 3:00 AM AND REALIZING I STILL HAVE 3 1/2 HRS TO SLEEP MAKES ME HAPPY.
NEW RIBBON TO MAKE HAIR BOWS, A FRESHLY CLEANED BATHROOM, AND LISTENING TO MY GIRLS GIGGLE, ALL MAKE ME HAPPY.
I LOVE THAT SILICONE BAKE WARE MAKES LEANNE HAPPY. I LOVE THAT MOM WALKING HER LITTLE DOG MAKES HER HAPPY. I LOVE THAT JUMPING ON THE TRAMPOLINE MAKES IVY HAPPY. I LOVE THAT LITTLE GAME FIGURES MEANT FOR 10 YEAR OLD BOYS, MAKES JASON HAPPY. I LOVE THAT MY SPENDING TIME WITH EMILIE MAKES HER HAPPY, AND PEEK-A-BOO MAKES ADDIE HAPPY.
I WOULD BE SO HAPPY IF EVERYONE WHO READS THIS WOULD POST WHAT SIMPLE THINGS MAKE THEM HAPPY.

Cooking School & Foreign Language Lessons

This morning I woke up to the most adorable thing. Emilie was making us breakfast-in-bed, and teaching Ivy how to cook. She made us each 1 scrambled egg. I could hear her telling Ivy how to crack the eggs, and mix them around the pan with the spatula. She showed her how to transfer the eggs to a plate, and then placed them on her little pink tea cart and told Ivy to deliver them to us. Which Ivy actually did.

After feeding Jason and me, she began to make breakfast for everyone else. That is when the foreign language lessons began.

I could hear her telling Ivy to say "bone" and "jor" then put them together... bonjour. "That's how you say hello in..." wait for it..."Japanese." Next she taught her "O" "la" put them together...hola. "That's how to say hello in Mexican." I think its time to consider foreign language lessons for Emilie.

After Language lessons, it was time to deliver eggs to Uncle Paul. They knocked on his door. He told them to wait a minute. They stood outside his door and counted together to 60, one full minute later, they knocked again. He answered the door cracking up. He really is a good sport. He ate all the cold rubbery scrambled eggs.

It was a great way to start the day.

Happy New Year!

We had rad cool time last night at our New Years Eve Party. Of course it did get off to a rocky start. Jason went to the youth party at a ward members house so I was here alone to greet the guests and get things started. The party was scheduled for 9:00pm. by 9:20 I was a bit concerned no one had come yet. 9:30 had me worried, but by 9:45 I was imagining the worst New Year's Eve Party EVER! Finally everyone showed up.
And so we began our celebration by playing Poker. A lot of fun when you consider no one really knew how to play, and we were playing for chocolate. Each hand took forever to get through, cause no one was paying attention, and some of us weren't sure of what beats what. Its a good thing I had my trusty Play According to Hoyle, Hoyles Rules of Games book handy.
We had good food, good company, and good conversation. Thanks to everyone who came. I really had a great time, and Jason even said he liked it.

Happy New Year!
