Catching up

Holy Cow! I am so behind on our summer stuff, and now school in looming over me like a big gray rain cloud. I am now going to overload this blog with everything I need to catch up on, beginning with Vacation!

We had a wonderful time. The drive wasn't too bad thanks to movies on the laptop, and the smut book on cd Jason checked out from the library for us to listen too. Of course we had to skip all the good parts, what with all the little ears in the car. LOL!

I would like to offer a special thanks to Kim, Mason, and family for so kindly putting us up for one night. We had a great time, and loved seeing your family.

The beach was great as always. We got nice and brown, Jason got a little red. Ivy wouldn't get out of the ocean. She spent at least 5 hours in the water each time we went out to the sand. Her skin was so pruney I thought she would never dry out.
Adelaide was a little less thrilled with the water, but had a great time chasing seagulls, and digging in the sand.
Emilie surprised me this year by spending more time in the waves than ever before. She had a great time playing with her boogie board. Emilie jumped off the lifeguard stand all by herself, and really just had the time of her life.
Jason even got out there this year, with no shirt on!! That is really rare for him. I had a good time watching him play with girls.

Mom and I took the kids to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. It was neat to see all the different fish. The girls were able to touch a stingray, and see some tricks from sea lions.
We were pleasantly surprised to discover how close we were to the Queen Mary. Emilie insisted we had to see it. She had watched a show on TV about how the ship is haunted, and she needed to check it out. So off we rode on a bus so she could she the giant ship. Emilie says it was the best part of her vacation, even better than Disneyland.

Oh yes, we went to Disneyland on Jason's birthday. He says its the best birthday he ever had. We took Emilie on Space Mountain and the Matterhorn for her first time. She loved it. Since the old people came too ( my mom and dad) they rented a wheel chair for Dad. Best idea ever. We went right to the front of all the lines. We had a great time.

I think it is safe to say it was the best vacation ever!!
