Daisys on location

Ivy's Girl Scout troop worked really hard this year to sell cookies. They did a great job, and to celebrate they had a Sweet & Sassy party this week. They were so cute with mud masks, and fancy hair and makeup. Ivy's favorite was the Mani and Pedis. She has been showing off the painted flower on her big toe all week.
I really had fun watching my 6 year old get pampered. Emilie just about died when she saw the Limo the troop got to ride in. I had to keep reminding her this was Ivy's Girl Scout party. She had her party at Build a Bear, and now it was Ivy's turn. Emilie was trooper though, and Ivy had the time of her life!

Introducing Penny...

Jason did it. He finally broke down. He gave into the pleas of his children. We got a dog. We went to the pound this week in search of a medium to smallish dog that's good with kids, and not a puppy.

We came home with Penny. A retriever mix. She is great with the kids, Especially Addie. She is super sweet, and she is definitely not a puppy, however she is a lot bigger than what I was wanting. Oh well, she is now apart of the family, and we couldn't be happier with our new dog.

The first week of summer

One week down, and already its been interesting. We started off strong, stuck to the schedule we wrote up. Things were flowing nicely. Then came Tuesday.
We deviated a bit, switched things around a little. We went to the movies, but still managed to get all our chores done; and by golly we had fun.
Wednesday brought Ivy's summer playgroup. It was at our house this week, and we had a blast. We were on track. Sticking to the schedule. Wednesday night Adelaide began throwing up right at bedtime. Within 15 minutes Ivy puked in the hall. Another 30 min. and Adelaide was at it again. An hour later Emilie decided to join the barf fest all over her bedroom floor. At which time I had to make a run for the bathroom myself.
I was up all night with my trusty barf bowl at my side. Needless to say Thursday was a complete ruin. I slept all day while the T.V. played babysitter. Friday, we stuck to the Thursday schedule. We went to the park, while the carpet was drying from having to clean all the vomit out from Wednesday night.
Today wasn't too bad, except that I totally forgot that I had committed to help out at a Primary Activity that I forgot we were having at church today. After getting a phone call from the lovely Miss Mary reminding me I was late, I booked it to the church and had a great time!
Now lets see if I can pull it all back together for the second week of summer. If not, my schedule may be doomed!!

Craft time

For our summer schedule we have set aside time 2 days a week for craft time. Today Emilie decided we were going to make hats. I couldn't get Emilie and Ivy to pose with their hats on, but here is Adelaide with her paper hat and matching bracelet. I wonder what we should make on Friday...

First Grader At Last

It's official,
Ivy made it to 1st grade! Well almost, school isn't really over till Thursday.
Last night was Frazier Elementary's Kindergarten Celebration. It was so fun to watch all the kids line up on the stage and sing songs to their parents, while my little darling laid on the floor and made faces at everyone. She did momentarily participate in a rousing rendition of Head, thorax, abdomen (sung to head, shoulders, knees and toes) while sitting cross legged on the stage and showing the entire gym her blue polka-dot undies. Luckily they can't take her certificate of completion away at this point.

She has really grown a lot this past school year, and come so much farther than we thought she would. I'm proud of my little Ivy.
