Where's the baby?

A question I asked myself just a few short minutes ago. I left her in the family room playing with toys and watching pbs with the big kids. When I came back to check on her a few minutes later she was no where to be found. Now I had to ask myself, "If I were a baby where would I go."
Well, here is the answer to both questions... IN THE BATHROOM!
Playing with the toilet paper of course.

OUR NEW LOOK

While Jason's parents so kindly took Emilie and Ivy to their house for a week, Jason, Paul, and I got down and dirty and painted the main rooms of our house. The living room, family room, and the hall that connects them. After 2 days of painting, and one day of touching up, and replacing furniture, and decor. the house looks wonderful! Jason and Paul talked me into more shades of gold than I had planned on, (four shades total) but I must admit, they were right. The color in the family room is more of a bronze color, I'm not sure you can tell by the picture. I am loving it.

Now everyone, tell me what you think.

Breaking Dawn & the Birthday Party

Breaking Dawn
Well, first things first. On Friday Aug. 1st I went out to dinner with my church friends and fellow Twilight enthusiasts, and then to the Breaking Dawn party at Borders. We had a great time being silly and discussing the ins and outs of Bella, Edward, and Jacob. Of course we ended up buying it at Walmart cause we didn't want to stand in the gianormous line at Borders.

At dinner, which was at a fantastic Italian restaurant ,I tried fried calamari for the first time ever. Now this is huge for me. I don't eat anything that came from an ocean, lake, or stream as a general rule. However I was coerced, and I actually liked it. And I have the pictures to prove it!

Surprise Party!

On Aug. 2nd, I threw Jason a surprise party. It was so much fun for me to do this. I am usually a horrible secret keeper, but I managed keep this one to myself. Jason was totally surprised, and a little confused when he walked in. Thank you to Shawn for keeping him busy for 2 hours while I hurriedly got everything ready. and thank you to Janet and Paul (my brother) for helping me.

Jason was kind enough to humor me and read some of his poetry to us, and his parents were wonderful and brought the karaoke mic for our musical enjoyment. Thanks so much to everyone who came. We had such a great night, and Jason is so honored that everyone came to see him.

NEWPORT BEACH CALIFORNIA IS THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD EVER!!!

Of course that's just the humble opinion of me and my entire family. We went for our yearly week at the beach and we so did not want to leave. In fact Ivy keeps asking if we can go to back to the beach. She had the best time climbing on the rocks. We could hardly keep her out of the ocean this year. She is now an expert wave jumper, and seagull chaser to boot.

Adelaide was very impressed with the water, the waves, and more importantly the sand. I had a hard time keeping it out of her mouth. I think she ate more than I would like to admit to. She also had her first piece of licorice while we were there. She swiped it from Ivy without me noticing, and by the time I did it was too late.

Emilie built many a sand castle, and sand volcanoes. She brought back a huge bag of shells she found them all herself, and she made friends with a little girl from Florida who's family was staying in the house next door.

We had a wonderful visit with Grandma and Grandpa Sneddon. They spoiled the girls rotten (as usual). They bought us beach bars, and giant donuts, and we had the best time of our lives.

I would like to give a great big thank you to Kimberly and Mason for feeding us lunch, and allowing us to invade their home for a little while. We loved seeing you both and of course your adorable kids. We had a great visit with you guys.
After leaving the beach we drove to Las Vegas for a fast but fun filled visit at my parents house. It was great to see my brothers again, and I even got to bring one home with me. Paul, the baby of the family (27), moved back with us and we couldn't be happier to have him. It is so good to see apart of my family around. The girls just love having him too.
Unfortunately, my father and I did take a quick two-day trip up to Utah for the funeral of my cousin Karen. It was nice to see family that I haven't seen in years, but I'm sorry it had to be that way. Karen was well loved, and will be greatly missed.
And so ends the travel log on this vacation. It was all we hoped it would be and more!
