We Ran Away to Austin

On Friday the 12th Valerie, Kaaryn, Jamie, and I all ran away for the weekend. I am the only one who had spent any time is Austin before, and all I did was kid related stuff, so it was way fun to go with adults, and explore the city. We took a tour on the Duck Boat. We were each given a lovely quacker, and while we drove around the city we got a little history lesson. Then the boat/tour bus drove right out into the lake. It was so beautiful and so fun.
From there we were inspired to go Kayaking. Valerie and I teamed up, while Kaaryn and Jamie went out together. We didn't even tip over, though out tushies got very wet!
Then it was off to lunch, and then to the Capital Building. Can I just say, so beautiful and so fun. F.Y.I. our capital building in Austin is taller than our nation's capital building in DC. thanks to the 15 ft. statue that stands on top. Gotta love Texas!
So after a very fun and exhausting afternoon, we sat in the spa and ate ice cream out of the carton. We stayed up late talking, then drove home Sunday morning. I had such a fun time.
I am looking forward to the next time already.

Working Hard

In this scene, you see two school age girls hard at work on their nightly homework. Along with one younger sister who so desperately wants to do what her older siblings are doing. The youngest looks out at the viewer as if to say, will I ever catch up with them. I shall call this piece, Growing Pains.

Okay sorry, I have been studying a lot of art history, its starting to get to me.

Really, its just kills Adelaide that she doesn't get to do all the big important things her sisters do. Such as homework. So each night when Emilie and Ivy sit down to their work, Addie wants to do her "work" too. Her work consists of scribbling with pencil (crayons would never do,the sisters use pencil) in her coloring book. She feels so big and important, and I think its adorable.
