Animals and Ears

I feel like a post more about Ivy than I do the other kids, but this kid keeps us on our toes. So without further ado, another post about Ivy.
I went to the zoo on Friday with Ivy's kindergarten class. We had a great time. I took Adelaide and she totally behaved, MIRACLE! I am so glad I was able to go play with Ivy. We had a group with 2 other girls from her class, and they all got along well. It really turned out to be a great day.
Yesterday was our ward's Relief Society Birthday Breakfast. Jason volunteered to help babysit, so of course that means all my kids were at the church too.
So there I am having a great time when Jason runs in with Ivy. She has put a plastic bead in her ear and they can't get it out. With help from Julieanne who so kindly took Adelaide home with her, and the recommendation of a quick care place, we headed out to get the bead removed.
I must say, Ivy was a trooper. While she was pretty scared it would never come out again, she held really still while the Dr. put some long skinny tweezers in her ear and pulled out the elusive bead. She has since promised us that she will never again put anything in her ear, or up her nose, but her bellybutton is fair game!

NOW FOR SOME ZOO PICTURES...

  1. Oh, that Ivy is such a cute girl. What a fun day.
Glad the bead came out. With the classes I am taking I hear about some pretty rank stuff that kids put in their ears. A bead seems harmless enough and at least you knew right away.

  2. Haha! That is so funny! When I was about 4 or 5 I stuck a popcorn kernel in my ear and we had to go to the doctor. They used a little vacuum thing to suck it out. I was scared to death. I learned my lesson though.
