Today there was a much needed and well deserved play date with some lovely women from church. It was so great to see Katie Hakes today with all her adorable children. I love when friends that have moved away come back to visit.
A bunch of us mommies met at a new park in town, and had a great time catching up while letting the kids play. Of course the kids can't have all the fun, so some crazy ladies had to show the kiddos how the hanging twirly thingie works. No play date is complete without a visit from a cute little puppy that the little kids couldn't get enough of. When the hunger pains started what else could we do but move the whole group over to McDonald's for some food and more play. Really I think today was just about the perfect day for any little kid, and perhaps for a mommy too!

Nine Years
One of the good things about being sick is spending all day in bed, and catching up on all the stuff I haven't had time for. Namely, updating my blog.
A couple weeks ago was Ivy's 9th birthday. February 2. to be exact. She was, as always, an adorable birthday girl. She wore the birthday princess necklace to school, and was so excited tell everyone it was her big day. I, of course, brought cupcakes to her class. Yellow, as per her request.
Being the mean old parents we are, we made her wait all day to open her presents. I think the wait was worth it though. She loved her new La la loopsy dolls. Her hats she wears all the time, going back and forth between being a red angry bird, and a pink cowgirl. But the big one, and a super huge surprise, was Snappy Cheezies, her hamster. She is so in love with him. She checks his food and water faithfully, and is great about cleaning out his cage. I am very impressed with how responsible she is.
For her big night we took the family and her friend Shelby to Peter Piper Pizza for dinner. Everyone had a blast, though not much pizza was actually consumed, a lot of games were played and tickets were won.

Meet Snappy Cheezies, cutest hamster ever!
This may be my favorite picture of the night. Ivy is playing
Whack a Mole on the other side of the wall.
All we could see was this bird bobbing up and down.
Carmella, just enjoying a bread stick.
A little Skeeball if you please.
She totally kicked my butt at air hockey!
Mom, I got frosting on my elbow! I'll just lick it off.
