Field Tripping

Okay, time for me to add Ivy's field trip to Country Critters farm . We had such a good time. Ivy just loves animals, so this was the best trip for her. She had a pony ride, a hay ride, and she was able to pet all the goats she wanted. I think the baby goats were her favorite.
I am so glad I was able to go on these field trips with the girls. I had so much fun, and I think the bonding time is really important. Ivy couldn't get enough of the giant maze they had. I had to keep chasing her out of it. She was also excited about the potato sack races she had with her classmates. She kept wanting to go again and again. We had a terrific day!

The end of the school year is a seemingly endless mass of field trips, field days, and class parties. Such has been my life for the last week and will continue to be until Wednesday next. Here are a few pictures of my ZOO field trip with Emilie's 1st grade class.

I must say I really enjoyed myself. I was able to spend 4 hours with Emile and her little friend Leanne looking at the the neat animals and listening to them talk about the truly important things 7 year olds talk about. I had left both Ivy and Addie with a friend of mine for the day, I was able to spend time with Emme and not have to chase Ivy down, or stop to feed the baby.

LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME NOW

Jason has often quoted from Dr Seuss's The Cat in the Hat, pg 18 lines 1-5.

"Look at me!

Look at me!

Look at me now!

It is fun to have fun

But you have to know how."

I think this quote accurately describes my life with Jason and raising his (our) children. I am always hearing "Mom watch this" and then I watch some silly trick Emilie or Ivy is doing. which to them is so awesome and creative, but which I myself and every other child on earth has done. (and probably has made their parents watch as well). What kills me is that Jason 33 years old is still doing "great tricks" that I have to watch with wonder and amazement. When do men grow out of this phase? Do they ever? Or am just lucky to be married to a very old kid?

Now I should state that the number of jump kicks and kip ups performed have decreased in the last few years, but I wonder sometimes if when we are 70 I will still be hearing the words " Hey Sara, look at this" .
